I think we can agree that no words will do justice to everyone’s individual experience over the past few weeks.
It’s never been more critical to stay connected with one another, even as we practice physical distancing to keep ourselves, and each other, healthy and safe.
Now, more than ever, you need to remember to take care of yourself, mentally, emotionally, physically. This means, getting good rest, moving your body, getting outside during the daylight if you’re able, eating nourishing wholesome foods, staying hydrated, staying connected to friends and family, and concentrating on the positive things in your life!
Remember that LIFE IS ALWAYS UNCERTAIN and the only thing you can be sure of is the present moment.
I’d like to share a writing exercise to help you focus on what IS certain and good in your life right now. It’s a lesson in gratitude, called the “I Want” exercise.
Get a piece of paper and a pen.
List 1-25 on the paper.
Write down 25 things you WANT that you already HAVE. Yes, that’s right! Write down what you want that you actually already have!
For example, I want to live in Brooklyn, I want to do yoga every day, I want to have kind, loving, and supportive friends, I want a cozy bed with a cute comforter, I want to be a Nutritional Therapist & Wellness Coach, I want to cook delicious, nourishing meals, I want the book "Everything Is Figureoutable," I want a bright and colorful kitchen tablecloth.
This exercise offers a different take on gratitude. It provides an opportunity for you to focus on what you already have and reminds you that you have what you want! This exercise increases your awareness of the true abundance that already exists in your life.
