Have you ever had thoughts like, “nothing ever works out for me” or “everything is going wrong”?
Yeah, me too.
Thoughts like these are common because our human brains are biased towards negative thinking; it’s a way our brains have evolved to protect ourselves.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it's something to be aware of so you can learn to manage your thoughts from spinning into a detrimental thought loop.
Speaking of not so fabulous thoughts, a thought that’s been finding its way into my brain lately is, “nothing is working.”
This thought doesn’t feel good, nor does it serve me.
When I catch myself thinking “nothing is working” I’ve taught myself to make a shift by asking myself, “what if everything actually IS working”?
I allow myself to invest in that possibility and then I’m able to let go and move forward into more useful thoughts.
The good news is, when we become mindful of our thoughts, we recognize that we have the power to manage and change them to better serve us.
