4 Reasons Why You DO Want to Change

Alyssa Abrahamson

You know when you feel it’s time to make a change and you decide to take that risk and give it a go?

It feels great, right?!

Making a change, taking a leap of faith, experimenting, and trying something new can be invigorating. It also can bring benefits including:

  • Boosting self-esteem and confidence

  • Revealing inner strengths

  • Learning to face your fears

  • Exposure to new life experiences and opportunities

  • Getting out of your comfort zone

Last week I wrote about feeling resistance to change. Many of us associate change with discomfort, unfamiliarity, and risk. I shared 4 reasons why we typically avoid change.

I was speaking to a friend about this and she said, “the goal of life is all about discovery and self-evolution...we need to be flexible and evolve and work towards our own growth and that involves courage, trust, and desire.”

I invite you to reflect on the positive evidence you already have as a result of changes you’ve made in your life.

So, in celebration of embracing change, believing in yourself, and facing fear, here are 4 reasons why you DO want to change:

  1. You believe you deserve more

  2. You’re ready to feel better

  3. You feel motivated and inspired

  4. You’re ready to listen to your intuition

Any of these resonate?

What motivates YOU to make change?

I’ve certainly made some significant lifestyle and nutrition changes to support my health and healing from autoimmunity.

In Episode 30 of my podcast, Positive Anti-Inflammatory, “Going Gluten and Dairy Free - Part 1 (My Story)” I expose myself and share my story of going gluten and dairy free 9 years ago.

Listen as I get personal and tell my story of why and how I went gluten and dairy free in 2012. I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis in the year 2000 and the medication I was on kept me in remission for a decade, but when the meds stopped working and the chronic pain and fatigue kicked into high gear, I knew I needed to make significant changes. Listen as I share my journey of dealing with a chronic illness and my experience with dietary changes in order to tame inflammation and bring about healing in my body. I hope today’s episode will inspire you as you navigate your own health and healing journey.

Tune in and subscribe to Positively Anti-Inflammatory, wherever you find podcasts.
